Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.
Cancellation Policy
Roscoe Village Animal Hospital established our cancellation policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care for our clients and patients. No-shows and late cancellations prevent other patients from receiving much-needed care; as such, we have implemented the following policies regarding no-shows and canceled appointments:
Scheduled Appointments: RVAH respectfully requests that all clients arrive 10 minutes before their pet’s scheduled appointment to accommodate unforeseen traffic delays and parking, and to allow time for check-in. Please notify the hospital within 24 hours if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Grace period: If you are running late for your appointment, please inform the office as soon as possible. To ensure timely care for all patients, appointments must be rescheduled if you are more than 10 minutes late.
No Call No Show Appointments: For missed appointments without notification, a $100.00 deposit is required before scheduling your next appointment. This deposit will be applied to your next visit. If you cannot attend your rescheduled appointment and fail to notify the office within 24 hours for a second time, it will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
Scheduled Procedures: When scheduling a surgical or other specialized procedure, a $250 booking deposit is required to secure this appointment. This deposit will be applied to your final invoice on the day of the procedure. If you need to cancel or reschedule your pet’s procedure, you must do so within 48 hours of your scheduled time. Failure to notify the hospital within this time or not showing up on the day of this appointment will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
"My partner and I just moved from out of state, and I took my dog to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital for the first time today after she developed a stomach bug. I had an excellent experience from start to finish. Making an appointment was quick and easy, the facilities were clean and, most importantly, the personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Garrison and Shaakira were incredibly thorough and treated my nervous pup with the utmost care. I'm very grateful we found this vet."
