Dr. Katie Callahan grew up in the Chicago suburbs and always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After graduation, she gained valuable experience working with farm animals and a variety of exotic species, including giraffes, reptiles, and small carnivores, before pursuing her veterinary degree. She went on to achieve her lifelong dream by earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Callahan’s clinical interests include dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and surgery. She is especially passionate about client education and takes pride in helping pet owners make informed decisions about their pets’ care.
Dr. Callahan lives with her fiancé, Nick, and their beloved pets: two dogs, Hippo and Benson, and three cats, Katie Cat, Hercules, and Scarecrow. In her free time, she enjoys grabbing coffee, walking her dogs, and browsing HomeGoods. She also loves visiting the zoo, watching movies, traveling, and indulging in a classic Costco hot dog.
